The importance of any industry lies not in production alone, but also in creating employment and generating income among the population. Though sericulture was known to the people since long, yet, no particular attempt ever directed to develop it into a distinct branch of cultivation. However inspite its limitations, the silk industry is still flourishing since long and definitely we can assume that it will be able to cross the other limitations also in near future.
