Above 96 % of amorphous silica was extracted fr om rice husk ash by acid leaching. The R-MCM-41 was synthesized using sodium silicate prepared fr om rice husk ash and CT AB as an organic template. The mixture was stirred at room temperatur e for 24 h and then calcined at 550 °C for 4 h. The results fr om the XRD indicated the welldefined crystallinity of the synthesized MCM-41. The diameters determined fr om the Scanning Electron Micrographs of fine silica particles and the MCM-41 particles were approximately 50 µm and 0.3-0.5 µm, respectively . The BET surface area of the R-MCM-2 1 41 particles determined fr om nitrogen adsorption isotherm was about 1 102 m g | Keywords : | | |
