Nodes act as a host and a router by forwarding unrelated data packets. In MANET nodes have limited sources like bandwidth, battery power and storage capacity. Due to the undefined boundary, changing topology, wireless links and no centralized administration it is vulnerable to many kinds of attacks. Black hole attack is a kind of denial of service attack, in which a malicious node advertise itself as having a shortest path to a destination node and then purposely drops the packets. This attack awfully reduces the network performance.
