Abstract :
The present study was done to find out the relationship between school environment and academic achievement of 10th class students. The study was conducted in the government and private schools locate in the urban and rural areas of Kangra district in Himachal Pradesh. The total sample consisted of 300 students of 10th class: 200 from government schools and 100 from private schools. Random sampling method was used for collecting the data. Scores obtained by students of class 10th in the final examination of previous class were taken for academic achievement and School environment inventory by Misra, K. S. (2002) was used. To analyze data‘t’ test and Pearson product moment correlation were used. The findings show there is significant relationship between school environment and academic achievement of 10th class students.
