Abstract :
In this era of Information and Communication Technology the web contents are increasingly becoming dynamic and digital in nature. Maintenance of a website when it grows beyond a few pages becomes difficult especially while using HTML (Hypertext Markup Language). In order to provide information effectively and efficiently, it is important to store and retrieve information in the most convenient way. Most of the library professionals are facing difficulties regarding creation, maintenance of any website and also regular updation of the content pages using traditional web tools. Content Management Systems (CMS) supports the creation of content, its management, publishing and presentation of information. With the help of CMS one can develop his/her own site without learning any programming language. Drupal is an open source CMS that allows professional to easily organize, manage and publish content, with a innumerable variety of customization. In this paper the Drupal installation steps are described and how to make a web portal for managing knowledge with the help of Drupal has been depicted.
