Hierarchical social structures in Hindu society were based on the principle of division of labour but latter on the four-fold division of Hindu society gave birth to social injustice, discriminations and violation of human dignity of weaker sections of society. Sikhism repudiated the Varnashrama Dharma theory and severely condemned the caste based discriminations and ill-treatment with subaltern sections of society.
