It helps in diverting the savings of common man , who have neither the time nor the money or experience to undertake direct investment in securities market successfully , from bank deposits , gold , etc. to the stock market . This study shows a view on mutual funds in India with special reference with growth schemes and tax saving schemes. This study describes the overall view of mutual fund’s performance in India,also show the individual performance of both growth schemes and tax saving schemes in respect of return. And also this study give some suggestion about decision of choosing between the two.
